Did you hear about the dozens of Church workers is California they put out of work.

So i learned tonight about how many people Free Chapel fired when they acquired a new church in Irvine CA. They tossed church workers that had been there 20 years on their ass with out notice. This crazy ego stuff needs to stop. I know that all of those in charge there will have to face God one day. They will see where their greed and lack of concern for fellow man will get them. In the meantime do not go to this place. God is not welcome there. Only $$$$$ is welcome at Free Chapel.

Disillusioned in SC said...

My home church in Spartanburg SC is being acquired by Free Chapel. When our board of directors made the announcement two months ago it was described to us as a merger of two families. Last Sunday our pastor told us all that the entire staff was being let go. (every paid position form senior pastor all the way down to the secretary) Our youth pastor is expecting his first child in a few weeks and he’s not going to have a job.
I have never been in full time ministry so I have no experience on how things typically work in this world, but I have been thru a few corporate mergers and acquisitions. In the corporate world it’s typical that all employees of the entity being taken over have to go thru a probationary period to make sure everybody is on the same page and compatible with the new culture. This complete firing of the whole staff has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
What was presented to me as a merger of two families is starting to look like a hostile takeover.

I have attended Free Chapel Gainsville for years. I have been blessed by the delivery of service given by Pastor Franklin on most occasion. There are areas of political leanings that definitely have a bias and should be separated from service to God, but pastor is human and in this humanity we differ. This does not stop me from worshiping and growing spiritually in that place. The tithe I give is onto the Lord and if it is being abused, God will be the judge, not me. The spiritual growth I receive from listening to Pastor Franklin is greater the the 10% of my resources I give as tithes. If pastor wants to live in a mansion, more power to him, as long as he does not abuse this or those who serve him.

I do not know the truth about "hostile take overs" of the CA and SC churches, but if it is so, I hope God will touch the heart of Pastor in leading his negotiating team to always consider the lot of those who would become disenfranchised and marginalized in those take overs.

My concern is that the trend in Praise and Worship is to have musical arrangements with the same monotonous beat and lyrics that are not easy to catch on to. This leaves everyone standing and unable to participate to usher in the Spirit of praise within each soul there. So there is an emptiness unless Pastor starts singing something that is able to get everyone's participation. The Bible says that it is praise that breaks the yolk. With this kind of praise-team presentation, not many yolks will be broken. I see this as the trend in many nondenominational churches now. My son, who played base for one church in FL recently left that church for the same reason. The trend of praise was not ushering in the Spirit of the Lord. I wish Pastor would exert his influence over what the Praise and Worship team does, but if he doesn't, Free Chapel is still one of the more sincere places of worship in America where religion is just a business.

In closing I would like to say, "enjoy your mansion Pastor Jentzen. " I am not into mansions, but I do own moderately beautiful homes that I live in here in America and my land of birth. To the Naysayers I say, "spend more time in prayer and less time judging. Pick the bean out of your own eyes before picking the speck from the eyes of others."

Jentezen is the most humble pastor ive ever had the honor of being under. He pours his heart out before the church and is not afraid to be transparent and vulnerable when preaching. He has a real heart for God and for people. He gives and gives to so many organizations. He isn't afraid to speak the truth which is rare in a church these days. He builds our church up and steps on our toes not many pastors are willing to do that. I love our pastor
